HUMP WEDNESDAY

Hi followers, here's something to make your Wednesday brighter. Comments welcome!

BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S

The satin sheets wrapped her in their smooth embrace. Lying on her side she watched the dust motes dance in the sunbeam that had begun its slide down the wall. The faded peonies on the wallpaper marked the sun’s daily progress from dawn to midday when it left the room and moved on in the world.
Aaron’d promised to come early but already the clock loudly counted the seconds.  If she lay here much longer she’d begin to get cold, and the rumble in her stomach reminded her she’d missed breakfast in her hurry to shower, pamper her skin, fluff her hair and arrange herself seductively in the bed.
Fed up with waiting Tiffany flung the sheets back, untangling her long legs from the clinging folds. Hunger called. The air brushed her skin as she strolled around the kitchen. Delighting in her nakedness she scrambled the eggs and dropped slices of bread into the toaster. Cooking sans clothes certainly increased one’s enjoyment of mundane household tasks.
The sound of the downstairs door slamming shut heralded his arrival. Her breasts stood to attention and her buttocks clenched.  What to do first? Eat her breakfast or jump back to bed? Food won the day and she remained where she was, a piece of toast in her hand, gently folding the egg mix over a low flame.
Behind her the kitchen door opened slowly, its creaking hinge announcing his arrival. She hoped her ‘modus operandi’ would increase his lust. Sometimes he needed a little help.
A gasp, a scuffle of feet, a rather non-Aaron noise and she swung round shouting “Surprise” intending to give him a full body hug.
Mid-stride she stopped.
The plumber, his mouth open, a faint sheen on his forehead and certainly aroused, as evidenced by the bulge in his boiler suit, stood in the doorway as still as if someone had plumbed him to the floor.
Damn, it’s Wednesday.  She’d forgotten she’d arranged to have the dishwasher fixed while she was at work.
Bugger Aaron – he’d missed his chance. Running her gaze over the young man, his unruly curls, his broad shoulders and bronzed arms holding two steel toolboxes, she made a decision.
“Fancy some scrambled eggs – or a bit of rumpty-tum?  I seem to have both ready. Which would you like first?”
His smile began small and grew to reveal two rows of lovely white teeth. The toolboxes hit the floor. She stretched behind with one hand and turned off the gas
“Mmm… we’ll skip the eggs,” she said.

Monday's scintillating interview!

Welcome to Craving Erotic Romance Blogspot.

Today we’re presenting Author: Virginnia De Parte

1) Have you always wanted to be an author?

I first had the desire to write when as a new mother, surrounded by children demanding attention, my mind craved to escape to an adult world. I wrote a short story about a guardian angel who’d been demoted for ‘losing’ a client. It was published - a great thrill and financial reward, but I realised then that I hadn’t experienced enough to write seriously. I decided to wait until life had taught me a few lessons and I had more time.

2) What genre(s) do you write?

I write short fiction on any subject that comes to mind from science fiction to tales with a twist. Romance has been the kindest to me. I’ve had four novellas accepted, two have been published with Secret Cravings Publishing, with another due for release with SCP in April. A fourth is due to be released this year as part of the ‘At Your Service’ anthology with Total-e-Bound, due out in May, with a further one under consideration with them at present. I’m inclined to pick a minor character from a previous book and begin another with them as the lead. This locks me into one publisher for those characters. It also means I am writing series, which I don’t set out to do at the beginning.

I also write poetry, both short versions like haiku and tanka, and longer poems. I have had many of these published and I try to use my poetry skills to enhance my fiction.

3)  Have you ever self published?

Good heavens, No. The very thought terrifies me. Who would do the cover art is the first question? What I know about formatting could be written on a matchbox.

4) Who or what inspired you to write your first book?

Several years ago I made a conscious decision to learn how to write romance, and took two courses in fiction writing and poetry. I read Charlene Harris’ series about Sookie Stackhouse and realised that romance could be fun and full of action. This set me going, knowing romances didn’t have to fit the Mills and Boon formula. (They’d declined my earlier efforts ten years ago as being too busy with too many characters and sub-plots.)

5) How many hours in a day might you write?

3 – 4 hours at the computer. Sometimes writing, sometimes doing the necessary ‘housework’ associated with being a published author. Updating my blog, contributing to this group, review requests, critiquing other authors’ work and editing my own as I receive back their comments.

6) Are you a plotter or a pantster?

A bit of both.  I like to write down a list of events and rough plot ideas, a few bare bones to hang the story on. Then I shuffle them around and come up with new lines to follow as I create the story.  Most of all I like to have a starting point to jump into the story from. After that the story tells itself, often surprising me with the turns and twists it travels.

7) Do you ever find yourself slipping away and becoming so immersed in your  story it affects how you relate to others?

No. I’m a fairly practical person. Sometimes I need to bake bread, work in the garden or take a walk and just forget about my make-believe world. I’m an avid reader, so I find immersing myself in someone else’s world great relaxation.

8) Are you in any of your books?

I don’t think so. I have a fertile imagination.

9) What do your friends and family have to say about you writing?

Most are very supportive, some utterly stunned and others dismiss it when I state “I write romance.” You can see their eyes glaze over. If this happens I tell them it’s damn hard to write a romance! I write under a non-de-plume to save my children any embarrassment, especially as my books can be erotic. (I did say at the beginning that I had to live first before I had the experience to write.)

10) Please share an excerpt from one of your books that totally spoke to you when you put the words down on paper.

From my first Sci. Fi romance: LOVE’S BRIGHT STAR

“Quickly! This way!”  He stood just out of her reach.  He extended one hand towards her, pointing towards the exit with his other. His blue eyes pleaded with hers.
“We have to hurry. This won’t last long.” God, what gorgeous eyes. What fabulous curls. The thoughts flashed through her head. With her cat sight she could see his blue aura; the colour of safety and trust.   It looked like she might escape, unscathed, after all and she reached out towards him. She opened her mouth to speak, but he cut in first.

“I’ll explain later. We have to leave here now.” His voice, firm and reassuring, with a tone that inferred arguing would be fruitless. Grasping his outstretched hand, she hung on tightly and followed him.

In the phosphorescent lights of the club she could see that they were the only things moving, weaving their way through the colourful figures. The smell of sweaty bodies caught her nose, all her senses heightened by the tension. As they passed a mirror she glanced in and saw her eyes were wide with shock, her pupils, small black dots in green pools. They moved through silence, tangible like thick syrup.   A heaving, pulsating room, packed full of people, now a tableau of statues. She saw Anna and her friends at their table, mid sentence; mid hair flick; mid hand gesture; brilliant cocktails in hand – like a frame from a digital still.

She hesitated. No time for goodbyes.

11) Which actor/character(s) would play the starring role?

Robert Redford, despite his age and lovely weathered face, would play James in Love’s Bright Star. Nicole Kidman would make a great Siobhan.

Monday Interview with King Andrejs

Today, we are interviewing Andrejs, King of Hellenia, who we meet in Victoria Black's Heavenly Revenge.

A warm welcome, Your Majesty. Please tell us about yourself, and how you came to Ms Black's notice.

Good evening. I am the ruler of my country, Hellenia, which is a country situated on the planet, Artemis. I first came to Victoria Black's notice when she realized that Rose, the very pretty heroine of her story, would have to battle against me.

Q. You had to battle against the heroine?

Oh, not in the cruel, physical sense of warfare. I would never hurt a woman, even a treacherous spy, such as Rose. She is so tiny, so delicate, so pretty. There are other, far more enjoyable, ways to battle against a woman.

Q. A little personal perhaps, but how did you seduce Rose? Was there a conflict with her being the enemy?

Very personal. But I promised Ms Black I would be honest. There was no seduction. With Rose being the enemy and learning such an important state secret, I was entitled to my revenge. Do I sound cruel? I was never cruel to little Rose, never hurt her. She enjoyed her punishment very much.

Q. Did Rose ever seduce you?

Again, no seduction necessary. Rose would laugh as much as I am laughing. A glimpse of her tiny, feminine body, her curly red hair bobbing around her delicate, elfin face, and I was always a lost man.

Q. What part of Rose's body is the most sensitive?

My lovely Rose has delightfully responsive nipples. Just a brush of my knuckles, and they harden to enticing, erect sirens luring me to suckle them.

Q. What was one of the most embarrassing things your author did to you in Heavenly Revenge?

Mrs Black insisted on showing the softer side of my nature. I am the leader of my army! The ruler of my kingdom. It was embarrassing when she showed how one tiny woman could wind me around her little finger.

Thank you for your time, Your Majesty.

Monday Interview with Alex Hunter from Second Time's the Charm

Character Interview with Alex Hunter

M: Hello Mr. Hunter.  Welcome.  I’m excited to sit down and talk with you about your recent love story.  Can I call you Alex?
A: Thank you Melissa.  Feel free to call me Alex.  I’m also looking forward to people hearing more about my sweetheart, Lissa.  She's amazing.  I couldn’t believe that I'd been hoping to meet her for about six months before fate brought us together. Even more amazing is that she was able to take a chance on me after all that my ex said about me.

M: What do you love about Lissa?
A: Lissa is a kind and caring person.  She wouldn’t harm a fly.  Her children are first in her life.  She is an outstanding mother.  I don’t like how Steve, her ex, treats her.  He brow-beats her and puts her down.  Would you believe that he calls her daily to complain about how she is raising the boys?

M: That sounds frustrating. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for her.  How did you and Lissa meet?
A: Lissa is best friend’s with my ex-wife, Chloe.  They work together at a local pediatrician’s office.  Chloe has been talking about Lissa for a long time.  When Chloe told me that Lissa was going through a divorce, I wanted to reach out to her but wasn’t sure that she would be interested in hearing from me.  I was sure that Chloe had shared a lot of our issues with her.  Isn’t that what best friend’s do?  I was positive Lissa had a skewed image of me.  But when Joe, my son was taken to the emergency room with possible meningitis, Lissa was the one who called me to let me know.  When I saw her sitting in that ugly waiting room, I couldn’t believe how beautiful she was and couldn’t take my eyes off her.

M: What is the most romantic night you’ve had with Lissa?
A: I pulled out the stops the one night with dinner at my place.  I had candles lit and soft music playing.  The food was amazing and it was the night that I wanted to show Lissa just how much she meant to me.  Everything was designed for a night of passion.

M: You mentioned that you have a secret sweet tooth.  What is your favorite dessert?
A: Chocolate is my favorite.  When Joe was in the hospital, I had gotten a couple of candy bars.  The chocolate was melting on my fingers and I could only imagine licking the chocolate off Lissa’s body.  When she came to Joe’s party, she brought her special recipe brownies.  It was then and there that I knew she was the woman for me!

M: Did you have any worries about getting married again, especially with the divorce rate being so high for second marriages?
A: Yes, I had fears.  My largest fear was bringing the boys together.  I was pleased that they were already such good friends and loved spending time together but becoming a blended family is tough.  There are now only two parents involved but in this case, we have four sets of parents involved.  Chloe and Steve will be a part of our relationship because they are the boys’ parents.  They may not always agree with us on our choices and compromise will be important.

M: I wish you all the best with a blended family.  I understand that the benefits do outweigh the challenges but it will take work.  Thank you for coming by today to share with us about your relationship with Lissa and your life.  Is there anything else you would like to share?
A: I want everyone to read my romance tale of love. Afterall, Melissa you did spend a lot of time and energy to bring out story to life. I know we sort of took over your brain for awhile. At least you have it back to your self now.  I have to ask the readers…  Would you have taken a chance on dating your best friend’s ex-husband?  I am certainly glad that Lissa did.  Second Time’s the Charm is available at Bookstrand, All Romance, Amazon and Barnes and Noble for only $1.99.  Pick it up today!

Blurb:
How does a middle aged, divorcee with two children find her way back to love after a devastating divorce leaves her with no self confidence and no faith in love? Lissa's ex-husband has shredded her self-esteem so she's thrown herself into her children and her work, leaving time for nothing else.

When a life threatening illness in her best friend's family puts Lissa on the path to romance, Lissa finds love in a most unexpected way--introduced by her guy's ex-wife.

Who knew that first time loves could lead to second chances?

YOUR TWENTY MINUTES START...NOW! from Victoria

The item of inspiration this time for my writers' group was a choclate rose. Our efforts were to be a salute to Valentines Day. Here's mine.

The elegant chocolate rose rested on my plate, smiling up at me, taunting me.

I’d come home from work, and there it was, my rose valentine, tied with shiny red ribbon to my door knob. No message.

I frowned, puzzling through my very short list of possible admirers.

Hell, there were none.

Work? Hmm, three women, all married, and one fifty year old, single man. Oh Jesus. I felt myself go pale. Jesus, please don’t let it be him, I prayed with true sincerity. His huge tombstone like front teeth, yellowing with age, always widened to super beacons whenever I entered his office.

Sitting in my chair wasn’t enough. This deserved some serious pacing. I nibbled at my bottom lip. Stop doing that. Last time I’d drawn blood and my lip had become infected. Remembering the way people had murmured sympathetically about cold sores, while keeping their distance, I obeyed my stern mental order. Snatching up the rose, I glared at it as I paced.

“No,” I said in horror, “Bob can’t have sent you to me.” Bob. My boss. Way, way, way overweight. Lives with his mum. Hell, I thought he was gay. No it can’t be him.

But panic was starting to set in. Picking absently at the red foil enclosing the chocolate rose as I paced with increasing desperation, little flashes of Bob came back to me. Chortling loudly over a dumb joke I’d made at the last meeting. Offering me a lift home when the meeting went late. Oh God.

Red foil fluttered to the ground. His eyes. I’d always thought they were avuncular, like a dad would look at his favourite daughter. Oh God, oh God. I brought the now naked rose up to my lips and nibbled.

Yum.

Anger replaced my shock. “What does he think he’s doing?” I asked the now gnawed-at rose. “Good grief, your owner is crazy. I’m only twenty-four. He knows that.” Another memory shook me. I’d told Bob I was between guys right now. I took a huge, furious bite and was left with the green stem.

The doorbell rang.

I ignored the delicious, creamy, chocolate sliding seductively around my mouth. Narrowing my gaze at the door, I stiffened my shoulders, took a deep breath, and stalked towards it. Okay, Bob, you’re my boss. Fine. But you have crossed a line.

I flung the door open.

Oh. Not Bob then. A guy stood on my doorstep. Black jeans, button-down white shirt. Tall. I raised my eyes from his broad chest up to his face. Handsome, in an easy-going, fun way. Curly brown hair. Sprinkling of freckles. Nice nose. I like nice noses. Then my eyes met his. Blue. Smiling. Shy.

“Um, hello?” I said blankly.

His shy blue eyes turned into rueful, embarrassed ones. “I’m sorry,” he said, “this is sort of…” His lightly tanned face flushed. Then he seemed to gather his courage, for he smiled again. Straight teeth. I like straight teeth. “My name’s Chris. I saw you at Uncle Bob’s office the other day, though you might not have seen me. You were busy.”

Uncle Bob?

The poor guy shook his head. “I’m sorry. I’m doing this very badly, but I’ve never done anything like this before. I must sound like a stalker. Uncle Bob said you weren’t seeing anyone…”

Uncle Bob?

His face was really red now. “Look, I’m sorry, I’ll go.” He turned to leave, but then added, “It’s just that it’s Valentines Day…”

Finally I found my voice. “No, Chris. Don’t go. Come in,” I said, grinning. “Any nephew of Uncle Bob’s is a friend of mine.”

Chris took a huge, relieved breath. His eyes dropped to the green stem I still held in my hand. “I see you got my Valentines gift.”

Hump Help Wednesday: Flash Fiction

Many people have been talking about FLASH FICTION...yet it was still a new concept to me up until four months ago. Now I can't wait to get my writing brain geared up for another flash fiction story.  But what is Flash Fiction??

Flash fiction is where you take a photo or idea and build a short story or scene around it. But your word limit is small so you have to choose just the right words to make the scene come alive. Speech tags aren't encouraged because they can eat up your word count. This activity is more fun when you have multiple people writing stories and sharing different perspectives of the picture or scene.

Take this picture of a guy in the shower. What could you say about who he is and why he's in the shower? Is this a shower for pleasure or is he celebrating after killing his girlfriend? Remember that when you write flash fiction, tantalize the senses of your readers but make each word count.

Here's a sample:
John was sure he was in deep trouble. He didn't mean to do it. It just happened. Hopping into the shower he needed to scrub the memories from his skin. Using his girlfriend's strawberry bodywash brought her sweet scent to mind.

How was he going to explain to Susan that he'd slept with her best friend, Jan?

Most flash fiction is around 300 words. See if you can write a short piece using only 300 words. It really tightens your writing and allows you to create some very exciting pieces. In fact three authors that I know have taken a flash fiction piece and turned it into an award winning novel. Enjoy!

Heavenly Revenge - New Release!

Hi folks! I feel the time has come for us Erotic Craving Ladies to step up to the plate and earn our +18 Warning. So, be warned, some of what is to follow is a tad naughty!

Revenge can be cold and cruel.

When Rose dies before her time, two sweet, old angels send her on a mission to save another world. The angels worry she will be no match for the land's strong and handsome king. However Rose has learned a bitter lesson courtesy of her unfaithful and very ex boyfriend. She is strong too.

But when the lovely Rose meets  King Andrejs, she has a sweet battle on her hands. He believes she is an enemy spy who has learned a secret that may affect the outcome of the war raging between his kingdom and the land to the north. It is against Andrejs' code to hurt a woman.

But, as both he and Rose discover, revenge doesn't have to be cold or cruel. Revenge can be hot and very pleasurable indeed.

And now for that tad naughty teaser....

"Do I meet with your approval, my pretty little enemy?" He lay down next to her and reached out for the sheet that wrapped around her, slowly drawing it away.

As he circled her nipple with his fingertip, he said softly, "You are my prisoner, Rose. It will be my pleasure to punish you for being such an efficient spy." He bent his head to her breast and swirled the blade of his tongue around her aureole, before gently flicking her now very erect nipple with the tip. "You will be mine to fuck any time and in any way I choose. Do you understand?"

Rose nodded slowly. Her pelvis ached at his erotic threats.

King Andrejs turned his attention to her other breast, drawing the pink peak into his mouth and licking. He bit down gently. A jolt of excitement shot to her lower belly. She couldn't prevent her gasp of pleasure, and she felt him smile. When he lifted his head, she saw hard, cold desire reflecting from his dark brown eyes.

She swallowed. His revenge would be no punishment at all.

I'll add another naughty teaser soon....

A Lovely Picture

Isn't that a lovely picture?  I love photography and the composition of this simply wonderful. It really speaks to the intimate connections that we humans are lucky enough to be able to make.
Tangled sheets, soft and firm pressed together, scent of skin and that overwhelming focus on a lover.  Is there any better way to start the day?
